The Consul General of Russia in Shenyang Sergey Chernenko attended the opening ceremony of the First Liaoning International Investment and Trade Fair, which was held in Shenyang from 13 to 17 November this year.
In four days representatives of the authorities of 15 Chinese regions and about 3,000 enterprises took part in the event, 137 cooperation agreements were signed totalling 58 billion US dollars.
During panel discussions, Governor of Liaoning Province Liu Ning said that the region was interested in developing cooperation in the automotive industry, equipment and UAV development, shipbuilding, robotics, medicine, alternative energy, digital economy and petrochemicals.
The local authorities create industrial zones with preferential tax regimes as centers of localization of foreign and Chinese companies, the main one being the Liaoning Free Trade Zone comprised of Shenyang, Dalian and Yingkou sections.
The fair is intended to become a new platform for developing cooperation between Northeast China and foreign countries.
